Across the North, people who left for London are returning to take on great jobs in the region’s growing tech sector. In this new video series, we meet some of these ‘boomerangs’ and hear their stories.

In the final episode of this series, we meet Sam Phillips, CTO of property-focused tech startup Resident.ly. After studying in Manchester and working at a startup in the city, he moved to London where he worked at early same-day delivery firm Shutl.

After Shutl was acquired by eBay, Sam worked as a manager there before deciding that a move back North to settle down was the right next step. He returned to find Manchester a much more accommodating city for startups than when he left.
