Successful applicants are unveiled in the annual Northern Tech 100 League Table, which has featured an eclectic mix of success stories in recent years including Edinburgh’s Skyscanner; Yorkshire firms The Car Buying Group and Sky Bet (both acquired in 2018); Manchester’s Social Chain and Newcastle’s Hedgehog Lab.
To earn a spot on the table, you must have had at least three years of revenue growth with a minimum of £500k revenue in 2016. Early-stage companies that fall below this threshold are still eligible to win a ‘Northern Star’ award and be invited to rub shoulders with this year’s winners at a ceremony on Thursday 28 March at Manchester’s Albert Hall.
Last year we were surprised and delighted to discover than many companies who made 2018’s rankings were in places you wouldn’t expect. They included Redu (from County Durham); Trak Global (Crewe); Quint Group (Macclesfield) and Lead Tech in the quaint Pool-in-Wharfedale.
Not convinced that you would benefit from being included in the table? Check out our interview with Tom Marley, founder of The Car Buying Group (which topped the table with 191% growth in 2017), on how the awards gave his business a tangible boost.
