The third cohort of the Tech Nation International Growth Programme for Southeast Asia spent the week in Singapore to meet potential business partners, government agencies and experts on the ground accelerating their expansion plans for the Southeast Asia region.
This comes as the cohort has spent the last four months online learning about the opportunities and challenges for their business in the region, as well as developing go-to-market strategies, building up connections and relationships with mentors, investors and potential buyers and partners.
In Singapore the companies attended sessions with the UK government on the benefits of the UK-Singapore Digital Economy Agreement as well as with the Singaporean government on the country’s digitalisation efforts from IMDA, and opportunities in the ecosystem from Singapore EDB. Tech Nation hosted a showcase for all companies to pitch their technology solutions to a group of investors and corporate partners from across Southeast Asia. The Tech Nation programme supported the companies in arranging 1-2-1 meetings while in-market with the likes of ST Engineering, NUS, Antler and Heineken.
Tony Lowe, COO at Oxbotica said the highlight of the visit was ‘the seamless introduction to a highly qualified network of representatives from local and UK government, industry, regulators and investors – which has already generated opportunities’.
The visit also received local press coverage highlighting the interest by the UK tech sector in Singapore and helping to put our cohort on the map.
