Yesterday, Tech North announced the first advisory board members who will be working with the organisation to continue its effective support of the North of England’s digital network.
An initiative set up by government-backed Tech City UK, Tech North is focused on attracting and developing talent, entrepreneurship and investment in the North of England.
Herb Kim, Executive Chair, Tech North and board member of Tech City UK, will lead the advisory board with five other additional leaders from the North of England’s digital community including:
Head of Tech North, Claire Braithwaite, will also join the Advisory Board who will work closely together to identify and develop initiatives that address the needs of the region’s digital network.
Specifically, the team of successful digital leaders will provide strategic counsel for Tech North as well as sharing their expertise and experience to ensure the right mechanisms exist to support startups and scaleups in the North of England.

Claire Braithwaite, Head of Tech North, commented: “We have ambitious goals to evidence growth in digital employment, digital start ups and digital investment and are confident the experience and expertise of our new board will ensure we can fulfil this vision.”

The announcement comes in the midst of Northern Stars, a programme set up by the organisation to celebrate, connect and champion digital start up talent across the region. The competition is due to culminate in a list of 10 winning start-ups who will receive a package of support from Tech North.
The appointment of the Tech North Advisory Board follows the recent announcement of Eileen Burbidge as Chair of Tech City UK and its new Board members.
