Welcome to Tech Nation’s new National Network pages

We have been busy redesigning our National Network pages to make it easier for you to find support and useful resources, make new contacts and discover events and opportunities in your local community.

We have 11 pages, which each represent a part of the UK. That’s Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland – in addition to England: the North West; Yorkshire; Midlands; East of England; South West; South East; and London. We’re currently recruiting an EEM for the North East – see this page for more details.

Each page features an introduction from our Entrepreneur Engagement Manager (or ‘EEM’ for short) operating in that region (or country). If you’re a founder or employee of a digital tech company, discover how our Entrepreneur Engagement Managers support digital tech founders. If you require support, simply fill out the form on your local EEM’s page to enquire about a meeting.

Our new pages also include stats from Tech Nation Report 2020, our latest report titled ‘UK Tech for a Changing World’. We recommend that anyone seeking granular data on UK tech, from accelerators to investment stats and workspaces, also checks out Data Commons. It’s our ground-breaking national database of technology businesses, founders, investors, VC funds, angels, accelerators, universities and service providers to the sector.

Our EEMs are tightly woven into their local digital tech ecosystems, and as such regularly tweet the latest events and opportunities for founders. Each National Network page features a link to their Twitter accounts – so make sure you give them a follow and send a tweet! They won’t bite.

Insights for founders

Our new ‘Latest in…’ content section allows you to cycle the latest 10 articles featuring that region. We tap into our EEMs’ vast networks to bring you interesting and informative interviews with early-, mid- and late-stage business founders – in addition to stakeholders from your local tech ecosystems.

We’re always looking to shine a spotlight on (and profile) exciting digital tech companies that have a product or service and are either in the scaling phase or have the ambition to scale. In addition to telling interesting stories, we’re keen on sharing insights, best practice and exclusive knowledge for the benefit of scaling entrepreneurs.

New to our National Network pages is our External Support section. Our EEMs work out in the field, constantly meeting new people and discovering new support resources. When they become aware of something new – whether it’s a meetup, coworking space, financial support (or skills) provider, or otherwise – we’ll add it to these pages.

Resources and guest blogs

Of course, Tech Nation itself produces support resources for digital founders. In our Tech Nation resources section, we’ve included a link to every resource that could prove useful to digital tech founders. That’s everything from our online learning platform – Digital Business Academy – to useful explainers, government resources, and links to our various sector reports and free toolkits.

Last but definitely not least is our new ‘What people say about…’ section. Here, we’re bringing you insights and views from people working in and around digital tech in that region.

That could be anyone from founders to festival organisers, local government representatives, coworking space heads, investors and beyond. If you’re somebody who is working to improve your local tech ecosystem, we’d love to hear from you.

We hope that you’ll find our new National Network pages useful. If you have suggestions on how to improve them, get in touch.
