Companies are able to find, interview and hire contractors, for free and immediately, whilst streamlining many of the inefficiencies in the process. With blockchain technology, contractors have all their background checks completed upfront.
My co-founder (and brother), Cal and I, have extensive recruitment experience working for big agencies, in-house for some major financial services companies, as well as running our own business together. We saw first hand the frustrations and challenges created between the candidate and hiring manager and felt that technology would alleviate many of those man-made problems.
In highly regulated industries such as financial services, contractors are in major demand. They charge a daily rate and that cost is exacerbated by recruitment agencies who charge a heavy premium on top. Getting them through the hiring process and started quickly, has traditionally been very difficult. When contractors accept an offer, it can take up to four weeks to get them started to have all their background and compliance checks completed. We’re solving all of those issues.
We grew up in Leicestershire and having lived and worked abroad and elsewhere in the UK, decided to return to our routes. With great universities such as Loughborough, Leicester and De Montfort, all within the county and championing tech, the talent graduating locally will be second to none. Leicester also is perfectly situated to recruit talent from major tech cities such as Nottingham and Birmingham, less than 45 minutes away. With Leicester being the one of the most diverse cities in the UK, we felt that the opportunity to attract diverse talent and thinking would only benefit our business. There’s a growing buzz around the tech scene in Leicester and we couldn’t be more proud and excited to be a part of it.
