15 July 2025 – London. The London AI Hub – a joint initiative by Tech Nation (part of Founders Forum Group) Europe’s leading AI group Merantix, and Quench AI and Onfido Founder Husayn Kassai, in partnership with Techspace – has today announced a collaboration with Google Cloud, The London AI Hub provides a focal point for the city’s AI ecosystem, acting as a gateway for AI practitioners and experts to connect, collaborate, and foster the connections needed to drive forward British AI innovation. It also serves as a platform to showcase artificial intelligence advancements, research, and thought leadership, establishing the UK as a global epicentre for AI and building public trust in the technology.
Through its collaboration, Google Cloud will support both the AI Hub’s residential and wider communities through the provision of technical expertise, infrastructure, and thought leadership to the AI-native businesses housed in the Hub’s collaborative co-working space and attendees of its curated calendar of events.
Google Cloud team members will also provide on-site technical support to AI Hub residents and host AI-focused events to align with the Hub’s aim to become a centre of gravity for artificial intelligence in London and the UK.
London has a strong history as an innovation hotspot and an existing reputation as a global FinTech hub. Inspired by Station F in Paris, Shack15 in San Francisco, and Merantix AI Campus in Berlin, the London AI Hub is working to establish London as the AI capital of the world by supporting the city’s rapidly growing AI ecosystem and nurturing its wealth of top minds and talent.
Located at Techspace’s flagship 80,000-square-foot Goswell Road location in Farringdon, the Hub has welcomed 12 AI companies as residents and over 1000 unique event attendees since its February launch, with sessions co-hosted with Anthropic, Entrepreneurs First, and Antler among others.
Darren Mowry, Vice President, Google Cloud Global Startups
“Our collaboration with the London AI Hub underscores Google Cloud’s commitment to fostering innovation and solidifying London’s position as a global AI leader,” said Darren Mowry, Vice President, Global Startups at Google Cloud. “By providing crucial infrastructure and expertise, we’re empowering the vibrant AI community and accelerating the advancements that will shape the future of AI.”
Husayn Kassai, Founder of Onfido and Quench.ai, added: “While the foundation model race is close to being over, the global AI deployment race is just beginning – and the UK is uniquely positioned to lead it. Our competitive advantage lies in our exceptional combination of technical talent, universities and research institutions, and proximity to industry. This partnership with Google Cloud strengthens our position where it matters most – bringing the world’s best minds to work and learn from each other in close proximity.”
Carolyn Dawson OBE, CEO, Founders Forum Group, said: “The UK has the potential to lead the global AI revolution. The AI Hub is another step toward creating the conditions where our companies can thrive and scale without looking elsewhere. We’re delighted to have Google Cloud’s partnership in the AI Hub to help us reach this goal. With stronger collaboration with Big Tech, we can better champion, connect, and support the UK innovators who are leading the AI future, right here.
Philip Ellis, Co-Founder & Marketing Director at Techspace, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Google Cloud to Techspace as a founding supporter of the London AI Hub. Their backing is a major milestone in positioning London as a global centre for AI innovation and advancing our mission to accelerate Europe’s most ambitious tech ecosystem.”
