Founders Forum is a global network bringing together the best, brightest and most inspirational digital entrepreneurs, corporate CEOs and senior investors who engage in open debate, brainstorming, discussion and problem solving at our invite-only forums across the world.

When you visit our website, attend an event with us or interact with us in any way, you trust us with your personal information. Founders Forum respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. We ask that you read this Privacy Policy in full as it contains important information on who we are; how and why we collect store, use and share personal information through your use of this website, in relation to the events you attend with us or the services that we provide; your rights in relation to your personal information; how the law protects you; and how to contact us or a supervisory authority in the event you have a complaint.

THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be directly or indirectly identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

Identity Data – This includes first name, last name, gender, title, job title, shoe and clothing size, biographies and headshots, social/professional media profiles such as LinkedIn.
Contact Data – This includes phone number, email address, personal address, business address, country.
Financial Data – This includes bank details, billing name and billing address.
Technical and Usage Data – This includes any tracking functionality uses, location, internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, mobile operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our website.
Usage Data – This includes information about how you use our website and services.
Marketing and Communications Data – This includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.
Recruitment Data – We may also process personal data when you register for or apply for jobs either through third party recruitment agencies or portals or via our website. In that case, the personal data that we may process may include information that you provide, such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, and background information required to apply for a job. You will receive a privacy notice upon receipt of your application to Founders Forum setting out further details of how your personal data may be used.
Special Categories of Data – This includes ethnicity, dietary requirements, special access requirements and measurable human biological and behavioural characteristics, which consist of biometric data that is used for identification.
Other Data – Any other data you voluntarily share with us.

We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your personal information but is not considered personal information in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate data about attendance at an event and disclose the results of such Aggregated Data (which is not personally identifiable) to our sponsors, partners, service providers, group companies and/or other third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information you give to us directly

Most of the personal data we process about you is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

when you contact us on our website;when you complete a registration form on our website;when you register for a newsletter;when you register for one of our webinars;when you register for one of our events workshops or other programmes hosted by Founders Forum;when you attend a meeting or video conference, event or webinar that we host or attend;when you contact us via social media sites such as LinkedIn;when you phone us;when you provide us with your details at an event; andwhen you provide us with details in order to set up a contract for the provision of services; and when you provide us with user details in order to set up user accounts to provide our services.
At some of our events we provide our guests with the opportunity to download our “Event App”; this app helps you navigate the event, communicate with other guests and plan your schedule while attending. The Event App may request additional personal information from you to register you in the app and provide you with a personalised experience. The Event App may also collect further information about your attendance and engagement during the event itself which helps us to learn more about your experience and consider how we can improve our events in future.

When you visit our websites

When you visit our websites, we may automatically collect Technical and Usage Data through our and our technology partners’ use of cookies and similar technologies. For more information about this, please see our Cookie Notice.

We may also receive personal data indirectly, from the following sources:

from our network of Founders Forum Group companies, as detailed below; from our client companies (for example if you are an employee or customer of theirs);from our third-party lead generation providers in order for us to send marketing material to individuals: (i) that have consented to their details being shared with us and to receive marketing material; or (ii) where we have a legitimate interest in sending you our marketing material and our legitimate interest does not override your data protection interests or your fundamental rights and freedoms; from our third-party partners in order for us to send marketing material to individuals: (i) that have consented to their details being shared with us and to receive marketing material, or (ii) where we have a legitimate interest in sending you our marketing material and our legitimate interest does not override your data protection interests or your fundamental rights and freedoms; andpublicly available sources (e.g. LinkedIn and other professional networking sites) to identify business contacts who are likely to be interested in our events and services.
We take reasonable measures to ensure that when we receive personal data indirectly: (i) the third party providing your personal data has the necessary lawful basis to share your personal data with us; and (ii) we use any such data in compliance with terms and conditions set out by the third party providing it to us.

WHY DO WE HAVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Where applicable, we use your personal data in order to:

If we need to use your personal data for any other purpose we will notify you and let you know the lawful basis on which we propose to rely.

LAWFUL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (“GDPR”), the lawful bases that we normally rely on for processing your personal data, detailed above, are:

Consent. You are able to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us at privacy@ff.co.Contractual Obligation. Where processing is necessary for the performance of our contractual obligations to you. Legitimate Interest. Where we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data, if this is the case we will inform you of what our legitimate interest is at the time of collecting your personal data.
We may need to process your personal data in order to comply with applicable laws, in these circumstances we have a legal obligation to process your data, but we will inform you if this is the case.

In the event you provide us with any Special Category Data (as defined by GDPR) the lawful basis for processing is determined by the category of personal data being processed. In the event this relates to the Special Category Data detailed above, we rely on your consent to process such personal data.

Where we undertake direct marketing, all of our direct marketing campaigns are conducted in accordance with applicable law; we only do so with your consent and/or where we have a legitimate interest to do so, but in any event, you have the option to opt out of any direct marketing at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our marketing material or by emailing privacy@ff.co. Founder Forum has performed a legitimate interests assessment in respect of its direct marketing activities to former, existing, and prospective clients. In summary, Founders Forum has a legitimate interest to market its services to existing clients as they already receive services directly from us and may benefit from other services that we provide. Former clients may be likely to engage with us again for our services after receiving marketing materials as they become aware of the additional benefits that other services could bring them. In addition, Founders Forum has a legitimate interest in marketing its services to prospective customers to promote brand awareness.

To the extent that Founders Forum records any video conferences/calls/meetings of your voice or image (biometric data), we will only do so with your explicit consent before such recordings are made. In relation to the collection and transfer of biometric data at any of our events, we will ask for your express opt-in consent before we share your personal information.

We have set out below a description of all the ways we plan to use your personal information in relation to the Gala, and which of the legal bases we rely on to do so. We have also identified what our legitimate interests are where appropriate. We may process your personal information for more than one lawful ground depending on the specific purpose for which we are using your data.
